Happy 1st Birthday Aubrey!!

Yesterday, April 19th was Aubrey's 1st birthday! She had a real good time and has been stretching out the birthday fun beyond her special day. For the past month we have been singing Happy Birthday to her and she loves it. Her mouth opens to a big O and she stares and enjoys hearing the song. I have tons of videos to share with you but I can't post them tonight. I worked 11 hours today and drove 223 miles so I'm going to post pictures only tonight and then work on the video while I am off on Wednesday and Thursday. On to the fun!!

First Steps!

On Tuesday, April 7, 2009 our little Aubrey took her first steps! She was on the floor in between Daddy and I, and she took 6 steps without going down! She usually is insecure about letting go, so we put her in her walker on the patio and she figured out that she could really move out there. The carpet in the house keeps her from walking so easily. After about a half hour outside, she came in and took some steps! Since then she has only done a few of them, today while cruising around the coffee table she hit her cheek when she fell down. No crying from her, just panic from Dad and I. She has a little gash on her cheek and I snuck a band-aid on her face...she still doesn't know the little band-aid is there. lol She is a tough one and so animated. She tells stories in her language and laughs all the time. 10 more days til her 1st birthday!

Healthy baby!

About 6 weeks ago, Aubrey was treated for a viral infection after having a fever for 2 weeks, runny and stuffy nose and congestion. The doctor decided to put her on antibiotics for 10 days and then she should be cleared up. The cold cleared up but even while on antibiotics and tylenol she was running a fever. She went to the doctor 10 days ago because we were concerned about her having fevers. They told us that if they are over 100.1 than its not just a teething fever. EVERY night she was running a fever from 100.3 to 101.6. Today we took Aubrey back to the doctor after they had us chart her fevers for the week. They drew blood on her and did a urine analysis. She didn't cry at all, just whimpered when they drew the blood and then she was fine. All of her counts came back normal, no elevated white count or anything! YAY! We have a hot blooded baby who runs a steady fever every night....go figure!

BTW she got her first tooth! March 14th the bottom right tooth came in...awww no more all gummy smiles!

We are having such a good time with the little one :)

Almost 1 years old!

So...Aubrey will be 1 year's old in about a month. We feed her pretty healthy foods but wanted to see how she would do with a cupcake. Not knowing if she would like it or not we thought we would do a taste test....I think she loved it!

Getting ready for bathing suit weather! Trying on the 12 month suit :)

Happy girl!

Trying out this birthday thing, Aubrey eating a cupcake!

video to follow.....

Yes, she's mine

So....while watching American Idol last week, I caught video of Aubrey digging for gold. How many 10 month olds pick their nose? She ALWAYS has her finger up there! I can't teach her NO yet, the word is so new to her and I'm saving for the real "no,no's. Oh, and when AI is on, she sings (screeches) like she is the next Idol...we are very amused!
